Our GCSE Maths course is for students in Year 10 or Year 11 and classes take place in all three locations, Oadby, Evington and Rushey Mead.
This course is for students who are in Year 10 and cover the course of 30 one hour sessions, we will teach the whole GCSE course (which they learn over two years at school). Once students have learnt the content for the GCSE time is spent on revision in preparation for their end of Year 10 exams at school.
This course is for Year 11 students and like the year 10 course we will cover the whole GCSE but this time over 22 one hour sessions. This allows for more time to be spent on exam practice so students feel fully prepared for the exam. Over the last two years, 90% of our students have achieved a grade A or A*.
New for 2014/15, we are offering a Guaranteed Grade A scheme for GCSE Maths for students who start in September of Year 10. Students will need to attend classroom classes and online classes and complete homework to a sufficient standard to be eligible for this course.
A relatively new course which some top set Year 11 students will be entered for which provides a greater challenge compared to the normal GCSE Maths. We offer this course as an online lesson over 12 sessions of sixty minutes. This course is great preparation for GCSE Maths
This course has been around for many years but recently many schools have begun to offer this course. We teach this course as an online course over 15 sessions of sixty minutes each. This course is slightly more challenging than the GCSE Further Maths course and is great preparation for students wanting to learn AS-Level Maths.
Our GCSE English course is split for students in Year 10 and in Year 11 and we cover the GCSE English Language course, we will cover some content for GCSE English Literature, mainly poetry.
Students will cover a little spelling, grammar and comprehension each lesson, as many students still struggle with some of these concepts even at this age. The tutor will then cover topics depending on what students are covering in school which include, creative writing, presentation skills, debating, poetry, media, writing to argue, persuade and advise.
Our GCSE Science courses cover the OCR 21st Century course and the AQA Science course. The OCR 21st Century course is taught in our Oadby venue because it is the syllabus that Beauchamp College teach to their students and a majority of our Oadby students are from Beauchamp College. Our AQA Course is taught at our Rushey Mead venue and a majority of Leicestershire schools teach the AQA Course.
In the Year 10 class we will concentrate on the same Year 10 topics that they will be covering in school and we try our best to follow the same order. In the Year 11 we will cover the year 11 topics that schools will cover. As the exam period approaches our tutors will cover revision topics and exam questions.
